Anesthetize Beauty – A Poem

Anesthetize Beauty

Porch light pondering
little mirrors on the floor

All of our intentions shift yellow

perfuming
wakes of escalations

Glad acquainting
popularists
in

a youthful headlight
sigh stammer
become

smiles
blink inhibitions

motion
time

Parodies the television

Dissolved arms in kerosene
artfully crafting
a shell to hide

vengeful relatives
who

no longer listen
Great mind balloons

Sleek voice
gathering steam in early
morning

hiccoughs truth
farts
elegance
anesthetize beauty

in the borderland
between
leaden pole and
moralizing monologue

  1. I’m so in love with the title of this poem. Never before have I come across “Beauty” being “treated” in such a manner. And there lines — so exquisite and striking — that reflect a deft style of writing here. Lines like these: “Porch light pondering || little mirrors on the floor”, “Great mind balloons” and “Sleek voice gathering steam in early morning.”
