Elephant Clouds – A Poem

Elephant Clouds

I saw two elephants in the clouds today
winding each of their grey trunks
around the other’s
in a show of allegiance or love
a transitory illusion passing by a sixth floor window
after one rain storm fell and before
the next began.

  1. Brilliant approach to describing the clouds before the rain. I do visualize patterns, images in the clouds from time to time so this made me smile.

    • Hi! No, I have to admit (as embarrassing as it is) that I did mean trunks. Thank you for catching that, and I have edited the poem accordingly. I am not sure why it would not appear in your reader, though I have not posted anything recently. Thank you for the comment, and the assistance!
