Abandoned – A Poem

Abandoned

I am close to
becoming
abandoned

as I meditate
among
the leaves

that died last year.
My soul a
vagabond

hiding beneath the
oak bark,
between

the fibers of
a skirt that
dries on the

line. Blown about, past
the red
tulips,

up and over
the fence by
a lazy,

withering zephyr.
Exhale
bound joy.
